A note from our founder:

I started Debop by making playlists for friends who felt overwhelmed by the seemingly infinite options on streaming platforms, yet underwhelmed by what “The Algorithm” had to offer.

As a musician, songwriter, producer, and music supervisor, I’ve witnessed the power of music manifest in myriad ways. With Debop, I wanted to answer a simple question:

Creating music is a uniquely human expression; shouldn’t music discovery be just as human?

Our approach is just that - by pairing each thoughtful Debop playlist with personalized liner notes, our curators deliver a meaningful listening experience. In the age of algorithms, my hope is to preserve and celebrate the sacred human connection that makes music magical.
